Travelsketching at the Lighthouse in Mukilteo
Saturday August 24, 2019 – 12.30-3.30pm – at Mukilteo Lighthouse Park
$40 per sketcher – bring your own sketching kit – see below
The Lighthouse is a perfect place to hone your skills for sketching urban views, with a bit of the Puget Sound thrown in. We will focus on how to get buildings to look like buildings without getting too technical on perspective. Tips like how to use your pen as a protractor for angles, how to treat it as a puzzle not a math project. And even when it just makes sense to sketch first, pencil or pen.
I will be doing a more detailed demo sketch than at the last few workshops, with explanation and opportunity for questions.
We will be outside in August, so dress accordingly: hats, water bottles etc. Also a camp stool might come in handy. The rest of supplies you will need:
- Pocket watercolors
- Water brush, or brush with water receptical
- Micron pen
- White gel pen – I use Uni-Ball
- Pencil – nothing softer than a 2H
If you need help with your kit let me know. Here is a link to a couple of posts about what I use.
Register soon, limit of 8 sketchers.
