For 25+ years I traveled the world as a seminar speaker – five continents and 21 countries. My sketchbook was always close at hand, I became theTravelsketcher, thankful for the opportunity to have sketched so many places.
We moved to France in March of 2022. We were located in a the rural area of Torchamp, d’Orne. Our home was 230 years old and was once part of a tiny farming village. In November of 2024 we moved from our beloved France to Portland, Oregon. I grew up there and it is close to family, I still miss France and hope to return one day.
These days I travel for pleasure, even if the journey is just in my own backyard, yet my sketchpad and paints are still nearby.
Over the years many have told me, “I wish I could sketch when I travel, but I am just not artistic.” My reply is, “Yes! You can travel sketch.” Before moving to France I held workshops teaching travelsketching. A few years ago I put together a small PDF book with some tips on travel and sketching. It is free, just tap the download button.
