Neville’s kidneys finally got the best of him and we will miss him so much. He was diagnosed with kidney failure in January of 2022, before we moved to France. We doubted he would live long enough to make the trip, but not only did he make the trip, he thrived here in France.

This morning I sketched this old picnic table in our back yard. It was Neville’s favorite place to take a nap or to sharpen his claws. This morning it looks so empty. I hope wherever Neville is now that he has an old picnic table for a nap in the sun.

So farewell my friend. We had some great times, certainly some of the best were the last 14 months in France. Every time I sketch in the back yard I will look around to see what you are up to – you will be missed.
A fond farewell

So sad, especially one day after seeing Neville on the picnic table with Terry just relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.

That photo was from not long after we arrived. These last few days he was pretty lethargic. Yet it is quite sad. He went downhill so quickly.

Oh Terry, I’m so sorry – I read on Tricia’s blog earlier today about Neville’s passing. I remember photos of Neville on that picnic table – if I were near you now, I would have made a plaque with Neville’s name on it for that table. Rest in peace dear Neville.

That is so kind. The table is quite old, but he loved it. And I will always thing of him there. Thank you so much.

My condolences. Perhaps all your sketches of Neville may keep happy memories of him.

One of the reasons I sketch is that it makes moments special, and looking at them later brings back good memories, with Neville they will all be happy.

This beautiful farewell makes me cry. He was a sweet, beautiful kitty, and I will miss seeing him whenever I visit you and Tricia. It’s such a good thing that his last years were spent in Normandy. There was not a more perfect place for him to live, and he left this life a very happy boy.

Yes this was the perfect place for him, it is where I will remember him the most I think. We are so glad he got to spend some of his last days with you and Tim.
