A week in Washington

We arrived in Seattle just a week ago. The first few nights we spent in downtown Seattle to adjust to the jet lag and do a little shopping. Here are a couple sketches from Seattle.

The view from our window on the 22nd floor.
Through a cafe window.

A few France inspired sketches:

Our hosts have wonderfully decorated their home, with an abundance of poinsettias.

I did this one for them which recalls a recent trip of theirs to Paris, a place they love.

We are enjoying our visits with friends and family, and seeing some familiar places, yet I do still have visions of France – it is nice having two countries.

Thoroughly enjoyable! The sun and olive tree sketch is so evocative of Provence; just beautiful. We are so glad you have two countries–and are selfishly pleased that we’ve been able to spend time with you and Tricia in both of them this year. Thanks for the nice comments about our decor–and MERCI BEAUCOUP for the amazing sketch of ‘us’ in front of the Eiffel Tower. It’s not only lovely to have friends who enrich our lives–but to have friends who are SO creative! Enjoy the rest of your trip before ‘returning home!’

  4. It has been interesting to be back here, it some ways it has changed so drastically, but in others it’s familiar. Love the sketches.

All of these sketches are wonderful, as always… ! I’m particularly drawn to your first — the view from your hotel room. Well done, and very special. Thank you for sharing. It is always such a pleasure to read your posts and take an art break during my day.
