We are in Dubrovnik. OK, so let me confess to some things before we go on. In general, when Tricia asks me about places I want to travel to I usually don’t have much input. So it seems that I am lukewarm to her suggestions. The reality is that I don’t have a bucket list of places I want to go to, really I don’t. I am pretty much up to most anyplace, with enthusiasm. So when she suggested Croatia I was, sure fine. Oh! My! If I had a bucket list, if you have a bucket list, put Croatia on it.
We arrived in Dubrovnik by bus from Split with some amazing views on the last half of the three and a half hour ride.
One of our first objectives was food, we had really bad baked goods in Split before leaving so we were ready for lunch. We came across Tavulin, a Michelin listed restaurant in the heart of the old city, nearby to where we are staying inside the city walls.
We shared scallops for the entree and I had the best grilled calamari I think that I have ever had.
After lunch we wandered toward the water, sat in a cafe and I sketched.

We have been here for only a few hours and have fallen in love with it here. Travel is all about the people and we have already met some great folks here that we will remember.

From the crowds yesterday I dont think completely overlooked though. Game of thrones being filmed here was a big thing, shops selling stuff all over.
