TheTravelsketcher’s Tuesday – Well……

We have always been light packers, a habit I picked up during my seminar travel days. We decided early in the planning for this trip, which begins today, that we would not check any bags. AND was that such a good decision.

As we were doing a few things, so as to be ready to catch the 09h12 streetcar for the airport, I received emails about changes to our itinerary from American Airlines.

Our original route was PDX (Portland) on Alaska to SEA (Seattle) to Helsinki on Finnair. That was changed a few weeks ago to PDX to Chicago on American, then on to Helsinki. This morning, due to a mechanical on the American flight, we find we are now going from PDX to Dallas/Fort Worth, then on to London, then to Helsinki.

Thanks to my Million Miler status we are on the upgrade list for the flights, so fingers crossed, there may be a silver lining to this after all.

Early on in my travel life I made the decision to never grumble about it, even with this kind of disruption. I saw so many frequent travelers go down the dark road of complaining and they always ended up hating the travel. So no complaints from us, this just enhances the journey.

We are set, luggage easily handled, so we are off in just a few minutes.

Here is our itinerary of cities, and their current weather. Thanks for following along.

  2. The weather looks a bit chilly, but as the saying goes: “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes” 😉. I hope your journey goes well and that you enjoy every moment.

    1. Thank you so much. I once did Seattle to Dubai on Saturday, seminars there, then to Genoa, seminar there, and back home to Seattle by Friday. So this is a piece of cake.
