This voyage has clarified and solidified my thinking about travel. The cafe in the photo is in the 17th of Paris, it epitomizes what is important about travel. The cruise ship crowds, the selfie-photo posers, and ticking-off the boxes on a list may deliver memories, but they muddle the experience of the moment and place, which are better captured by a cup of coffee and a sketchpad or the thoughtful photos of a photographer who seeks out the curious.
