On Thursday we head for the USA. It has been almost two years since we have been there so I am quite curious to see how it feels.
Thomas Jefferson said, “Every person has two countries: his own and France.” I know the Pacific Northwest will always be home and have a tug at my heart.

Yet, I do understand the sentiment expressed in the movie “Midnight in Paris.”
That Paris exists, and anyone could choose to live anywhere else in the world will always be a mystery to me.

We will be in Portland, Seattle, and San Diego. All three are a world apart from the rural farm country of Normandie that we live in so it should be interesting.

I am looking forward to some travelsketching as a traveler in my home country, should be fun. Follow along on my blogs, and on Instagram.
Thanks for sharing these two countries there. Anita

Your sketches are beautiful; I love the whimsical nature of the umbrellas; the poppies are lovely too. It’s hard to believe we’ll be back in the USA in just a few days.

Yes, it should be interesting to be back in the US after two years. Maybe you see things differently now (and just maybe you wish you were back in France soon 😉). Enjoy it! Oh, and I like the colourful umbrellas.

Absolutely love that Thomas Jefferson quote. You can love both places. Right now you have the best of both worlds. Safe journey, World Travelers.
