Packing, eating, and a bit of music

When we moved here 2 ½ years ago we brought just a couple of boxes that we shipped over in advance, Neville supervised, but he had no idea what the future held for him.

Then in March of 2022 we headed to SEA-TAC airport for our flight to Paris.

So Neville, our luggage, and the couple of boxes we shipped earlier are all we came with. We are packing up and will send a bit more home but we are leaving a lot behind. Neville enjoyed his last 18 months here, he thought it was heaven – we will be taking many warm memories back with us.

When we travel we collect art, small glassware, and magnets. As I am writing this Tricia has just finished packing all of small bowls; I did the art yesterday. Tomorrow, we pack the shipping pallet which will be picked up on Thursday and sent to the US, it will beat us there, we won’t arrive until October, and even then are not sure of our final settling place in Oregon.

We of course are still eating and had a couple of good meals this week.

One should never be too busy to do a sketch or two.

Flowers are always a perfect subject. This one even attracted a request for a reprint when I posted it on Instagram, which has already been sent.

Once the shipping container is finished I can get back to art as I would like. Then we will be off for more adventure between now and October.

Here is the view from ur front door, with our rental car in the foreground and the driveway out – next Tuesday we will head out.

As always, I am so grateful for your company on our journey. Your comments mean a lot and I enjoy following your journeys as well. Hope you grab sketch now and then.

France will be all the poorer for your departure. Lucky Oregon.

Wow, it is so close now that your big journey is coming to an end (at least temporarily). I remember dropping you two at the airport on the way out and it seems like yesterday. Enjoy your last days there to the max.

  3. It can be bittersweet when these events take place. I remember my move from Europe. Happy to be home but missing the last home, too.

It’s a good thing you don’t have to pack up your memories as you would need several shipping containers. All those memories will be with you forever…!

Thank you for re-blogging your adventure origin photo… you, Neville, and the baggage cart. It was good to see again. Remember all of the work you still had to do to settle into France? The hundreds of unknowns? You did it! And as Shirley says, you had a Grand Adventure along the way. Kudos for living your dream.
