This week in The Pearl

This week, for the most part, has been sunny and mild, February does that to us here, it seduces you into thinking that spring is replacing winter. Experience reminds me that March can all too frequently turn quite winter-like, even snow. But I am ready for spring.

On Wednesday we went for a walk and saw some crocus flowers, one of my favorite harbingers of spring, that prompted a painting.

Watching A Place in the Sun, as we do, a window in Cypress caught my attention.

Last Sunday we found some tilapia at New Seasons, Tricia used it for meunière.

The rest of the week has been pretty routine. I drove for Lyft three mornings. I like meeting interesting people and a couple extra Euros for our food and our travel trove doesn’t hurt either.

Alexis and Joe gave us a puzzle for Christmas. It came from Water and Wines, which we have discovered is an amazing place – food and wine puzzles, sustainably made, and they are the highest quality ever – I think they rival Ravensburger, which are considered le meilleur. The puzzle even came with a stand for the lid of the box. The last piece went in last night. Hope we get to do another one of these soon, I see they have one on French Cheeses…

I hope your week has gone well, that you are finding some joy and peace in your voyage wherever it takes you, and as always – take time to capture a bit of the moment in a sketchpad.

I didn’t know you drove Lyft! All the same, it’s a good little side hustle to make some extra cash. The meunière looks tasty, and I hope you have a lovely weekend!

    1. Thank you, I am enjoying Lyft, and just three mornings a week is enough to keep it entertaining. The fish was tasty, we love fish a lot more than beef.

  2. I just finished a travel puzzle today, too! It was vintage travel posters. We’re having near-springlike weather here, too, but it’s all an illusion. Snow is predicted for later this week. 😦

    1. Yes, that is what happens, but I guess the sun and crocus give us hope, and Lord knows we need that.
